Back to School

At Lice Be Gone, the most commonly ask question is, "is there a season for lice?" While lice is a problem throughout the year, there does seem to be a "season for lice" and that season is the fall. I believe the reason is that children have been in summer camps, vacations and not enough proper head lice screenings have taken place. The first couple of months of the start of the school year is when you want to be most diligent in checking your child. I recommend checking once a week, regardless of whether your child is itchy or if you're aware of other cases in your community.  You will save yourself a lot of aggravation by finding head lice early before it spreads to the rest of the family and friends.  If you want to learn how to do a proper screening, see pervious blog on this site- Returning Home From Summer Camp
